It may be hard to believe, but at one point historically, plumbers were just as important as doctors. This is according to Vice President of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association, Ike Casey.
His reasoning is that waterborne diseases are extremely serious and “it’s critical to have clean water and proper plumbing. We’ve taken that for granted in this country, but if you have someone who’s not trained, improper plumbing could create a very serious health problem.”
